A Problem Of Inconsistency

Happy 2025! Another year has started, therefore many are creating new goals to achieve.

Whether it’s working out, eating healthier, or even starting to read more consistently.

Consistency is the foundation of most of these goals because most want a big outcome that takes weeks or even months to achieve.

This can seem overwhelming especially with the influence of social media.

If you have social media, you are probably seeing many post about their own resolutions and what goals they want to achieve this 2025.

Now this can be a good thing, for motivating you to start, however I don’t want you to get overwhelmed by all these different goals that you would love to achieve.

This is why baby steps are so useful. It can become so easy to get distracted by others, that we forget about our own.

This can affect our own consistency by switching goals to fit the mold of what social media is preaching.

So, I recommend writing your goals down and also a personal reason about why you are picking that specific goal.

This will help remind you to stay consistent with what you want, and not get distracted by what others want.

Don’t Think Short Term

With your resolution, we don’t want to rush it.

Some resolutions are easy, like reaching out to an old friend, or getting that gym membership.

However, that isn’t always the case for most.

Something like losing weight, getting stronger, eating healthier, or even reading more is something that takes time.

It isn’t going to happen immediately.

This is something that requires patience, as well as discipline.

So, look at the long term timeline.

Would you rather have your goals quickly, but burnout and have to restart?

or

Take longer to achieve them, but never go back to how things were.

I like the latter.
