Baby Steps to a Healthy Lifestyle
I talk about baby steps a lot in my life. Whether that is on these newsletters, on social media, or in person.
It is something I truly believe to be the best way to achieve big goals. Especially for a healthier lifestyle.
Here’s three steps that you can take to help build momentum to get going.
Buy a Water Bottle (One you enjoy carrying around)
Having some sort of water bottle that you like is going to make it so much easier to carry around but also hit your water goals for the day. A bonus would be if the water bottle is bigger so that you don’t need to refill all the time.
Go on a 5 minute walk.
Getting 10,000 steps can be challenging for those who have a lot to do. So start out with going for a short 5 minute walk. If you find you have more time, start going for longer.
For workouts, instead of jumping right into 6 days a week, start with 2 and once you get used to that, add another day.
These are small steps that are going to add up and build consistency. Day by day creating a healthier lifestyle.
The Plant Theory
I recently was gifted a plant.
This is now the second plant that I am taking care of.
I am slowly learning how to take care of plants and found they show signs of sadness or change of colour when you forget to water them.
I notice when I am neglecting my own self-care, I neglect my plants. It’s a nice physical factor of how I am doing for my own health.
I suggest buying a plant as a reminder to take care of yourself, because sometimes it’s easier to work on yourself when you have to take care of another living thing.
Two Chest Exercises from Home
Push ups: The option you can do anywhere, as long as you have some space on the floor.
Dips: If you have a chair or dip station in your house, this is an amazing option for your lower chest.
