5 things that make lifting weights more enjoyable

Working out is a consistent process and if I’m being honest with you, won’t always be fun. It’s something we make ourselves do because we know the benefits outweigh the consequences of not doing it.

So what are some things that we can do to make it more enjoyable?

Listen to Music

Music is an incredible tool for staying focused but also training harder.

It’s easier to give up quicker when only having your own thoughts to get you through the exercise.

So when we have certain songs that get us motivated, it can help us train much harder.

Creating a playlist that is specifically for getting you motivated is such an easy thing that there should be no reason why we’d avoid it.

Have a Training Partner

Bringing a friend or partner helps in so many ways, but the main is the external motivation that comes with someone watching you do an exercise.

Sharing the difficulties of working out with someone you like spending time with is such an easy way to make doing hard exercises easy.

As long as this person motivates and challenges you to do better or train harder, then you’ve got yourself another tool in having fun.

Log your Reps, Weights, and Exercises

There is something special about writing something down on paper. It becomes real and present in our lives.

This is one of the reasons I preach logging your exercises to be so important.

For one, it helps us track our progress

But most importantly, it keeps us motivated and focused on the end desire.

Always have a pre workout meal

Food is so important when it comes to training. If we aren’t fueled, you will notice a big difference in your strength.

Having some protein 1-2 hours before your workout and carb 30-60 minutes before as well, will make sure that you are fueled to have a great workout.

Hire a coach

This is some subtle advertising but I want to emphasize how important a coach can be.

The accountability that a coach brings to someone’s training is night and day.

Someone to guide you and make sure that you are making all the right steps and actions to hit your goals at a reasonable time.

This is what a coach is for.
