Stacking Habits
The art of habits stacking is incredibly helpful.
Using existing habits that are already apart of your routine to prime you to do a new task that you’ve been wanting to do.
For me, that’s placing my creatine, omega-3s, and magnesium by my book that I read every night. Reading is already apart of my life, so if I don’t want to forget to take those supplements, placing them beside something I already go to everyday makes sure I don’t forget.
This could be as simple as, when you brew your morning coffee, place your water bottle by the machine. This can prime yourself to drink water or at the very least, fill the water bottle up for the day.
It can also be something like placing your packed gym bag by the door. This is something very small but it helps you remember your commitment to your health.
So whatever habit you are trying to build right now, try stacking it with something you are already consistent with.
